Preschool Supplies

I called this morning and got Lil Punk in preschool starting tomorrow. I was quite relieved that they had room for her. There is a $15 registration fee and $85 per month. We were also given a list of required supplies. Y took care of getting everything but a new backpack. They also had student pictures taken today so that was another $25. This is starting to add up.

A part of me just wants to cry because my baby isn't big enough to go to preschool. She won't be taking a nap three days a week. Time has flown so quickly. She needs to stay at 4 years old. That age is perfect. Does this feeling ever go away? Or is it just more pronounced as they get older?

  1. I wish I could say it gets better(or cheaper) but I cried as my youngest left for college this morning and she is living at home. You should see me when they live on campus

  2. I always thought age 4 was the perfect age for my kids too. I agree with Judy, it never gets better when your babies grow up.

  3. doesn't go away. As they get older, you have to have the confidence that you have taught them well and they are going to be ok.

I am putting my "babies" on a bus in 2 days to Middle school.....I am having a coronary!!!

And the cost....I haven't added it up yet....but we are several hundred dollars in....and we haven't bought clothes!

  4. Preschool supplies? Goodness! We have one more week of summer here...yes!!! The supplies are galling in some districts. We are fortunate enough to have a principal who realizes how quickly ttey add up. She pretty much sent an edict to her teachers asking them to seriously limit their lists and encourage reusing of old supplies. Thankfully, other schools in our district followed suit. I got away with just under $30 for 4 kids combined!
As for seeing your kids grow...the two best things we can give our kids are roots and wings! Enjoy your day!

  5. Mine starts high school next week, I think this is the first year I'm really sad. Every school year has been a blast, for him AND for me - so it was always exciting starting a new year. However, while I'm super excited for this new journey, with high school comes driving and THAT scares the heck out of me. So not looking forward to that. I was hoping by now they would raise that darn driving age!

  6. I never think it will cost as much as it does for supplies. It always surprises me. I try to only get a new backpack every other year. My oldest started 4th grade this year. I just try not to think about it. My little one just turned three. She REALLY wanted to go to 3 year old preschool, but she's not at all interested in potty training. It's okay with me. I think she's our last one so I'm hanging on for as long as I can.
