Natural Induction Methods?

I am so ready for this baby to be born. My bottom and pelvis hurt so bad. I want to meet my little guy. Does anybody have any advice?

  1. I would walk for miles before my kids were born. Just walk and walk. I also put on music and danced. He will be here soon.

  2. Walking and Sex. I went into labor exactly on my due date for both of my girls so not sure if it helped any or not. I also had one of those big yoga balls that I would bounce on when I was on the computer.

  3. Have Hubs take you for a ride on a realyl rocky road at a high speed.
Or get on a trampoline and bounce around for awhile.
Both those should do the trick! ;-)

  4. Just avoid that Petosin, they will push that on you if it doesn't come naturally and from what I've heard, it's not fun...

  5. Are you past your due date? (or as I like to call it "stab in the dark date") My guy was born 41 w 6d (meaning almost 2 weeks late). Once I was past a week late, my midwives gave me the go-ahead to try some natural induction methods. They did a few "stretch and sweeps" (where they stretch your membranes to encourage your cervix to dilate), and said I could try nipple stimulation (if you have an electric pump that works-it's supposed to bring on the natural oxytocin that helps labour start) and castor oil. The castor oil was vile to get down (drink it quickly in orange juice) but had the desired effects (be close to the bathroom if you go this route). My son was born about 8 hours after starting the castor oil. Good luck-I recall vividly how uncomfortable the last few weeks are. I'm at 32 weeks now myself, and the aches and pains are starting to get to me. Hope you're holding that baby in your arms instead of your belly soon!

  6. They can't stay in forever :) I hope the little guy decides to evacuate soon. Pitocin is awful, but 30 minutes later I got the epidural and she was born 4 hours after that :) Praying for a safe delivery and a healthy baby & momma <3

  7. If you get to the petocin stage MAKE sure you have them break your water and give you a few hours of walking before you try it. I was "induced" but I was adamant that they not give me the petocin. If you're already dilated at all then breaking your water should get you going just as well as the petocin (without all the yucky side effects). My little guy was almost 2 weeks late... I really feel your pain. My thoughts are with you!!! Those two weeks were miserable.

My sister in law tried the castor oil and went into labor an hour or two after.
