Work Stress--Ugh!

My work has been very stressful lately. I hate it when that happens. I haven't had time to do any stress relief like exercise or drink. Lolz

I do have a day off planned for tomorrow but trying to get caught up to actually take the day off is so hard. My best friend and I are having a girls day complete with shopping and massages. I can't wait!!

What do you do to combat work stress? Do all jobs have stress at some point?

  1. A girl day sounds terrific!!! And lunch time cocktails??? :)

I am lucky that in general, I don't have much work stress. We all have our days....or weeks! But it isn't consistent. I have one week of the month that tends to be more stressful than others, but the rest....it take it as it comes. My stress relief is to have Reiki once a month. It just keeps the energy flowing.....

    1. The ironic thing is that my bff is sober now and an addiction counselor. I would not drink at lunch in front of her but I would have a beer if we were having a bonfire or something like that.

  2. I come home and work in the yard or read, or take a nap, I have constant stress but it is self inflicted most of the time:)

  3. I have TONS of work stress due to having 7 assistants who don't get along with each other very well. I allow myself one daily glass of red wine (something to look forward to) and pedal like mad on my exercise bike. I also like to lounge in my bed with an audio book for company - very relaxing.

  4. What a coincidence, I drink too LOL. Seriously though, any stress I do have at work is a fun stress. Can't really explain, I work in the promotional products industry. Stressful as everyone wants their stuff for their event yesterday. But in the grand scheme of things, they are PENS. Not the end of the world if they don't make it in time.

  5. Honestly, the way I handle my job is to shut down. Think about it--strangers in my face all day long, day in, day out. If I was fully present in my body and mind I would lose it. I shut down and go on autopilot. I don't feel stress because I don't allow myself to absorb anger or irritation from the strangers in my face all day long. I just ignore their emotions and go robot. Otherwise I would never have been able to keep my job.
