Family Drama Continues

I received this news from 2 of my sisters this morning.  My mom is currently in jail.  She beat up my dad, tried to burn the house down, and then left with a rifle threatening suicide by cop.  My oldest sister is up there and trying to get my dad to divorce her.  I hope he does.  He is a decent man who let her rule the roost for far too long.

All this violence makes me physically ill.  Uggh.

  4. Oh sweetie, I am so sorry, it is always at the holidays that these folks( and I swear every family has one) cause the most drama. Just breathe deep and do the best you can with your little family, you can break the cycle. My love to you.

  5. Oh my goodness - I am so sorry! Too much - I agree with Mysti, hold those kids tight. These things do NOT have to be generational.

  6. My father could never let Christmas pass without some drama. My having children mostly stopped all that because I told him I had to live through that, but my children did not, that I would just never come on Christmas. He did manage to get in jail on Christmas Eve and my brother had to get him and bring him home. We just did not let the children know what happened. They were about 8 and 10, old enough to hear and see what was going on. So, my father was very docile and the rest of us were still cheerful for the children and ourselves. It was sort of the best Christmas with no screaming and threats. My mother would no divorce him.

  7. Hope this trauma doesn't over shadow Christmas for you and your kids. Hang in there and remember you can't control what your mother does. This is on her and no one else. Hope your dad is ok.

  8. My thoughts are with your family. Drama is too much sometimes, but it'll end and family drama doesn't have to define any of us.

  10. I am so sorry. Kim is right - every family has one. As long as you and your kids are safe, that's the most important thing for you right now. God bless.

  11. Holy hell. Wasn't she trying to worm her way back into your life a while back? I'm glad you kept her out.

  12. Thank you all for your kind words. I'm going to focus in Christmas now. My mom has ruined so many holidays with her antics over the years. I am choosing to focus in my kids, wonderful husband and Jesus.
