We're Debt Free!!!

**except for our mortgage

One of my goals this year was to pay off the pick-up.  I had been paying it down quite rapidly but still owed $4488.  I was sick of having that payment and I set up an automatic transfer this month to our retail investment account.  I logged in this morning and paid it off.

This is the first time since we've been married that we've not had any vehicle or student loan debt.  I'm not really counting the one day last summer that we paid off my car and bought the pick-up the same day.

Woohoo!!

  6. Thank you all so much!! We are not planning in attacking our mortgage. We owe about $200,000 at 3.375%. I think we can get a better return long term. Plus we have so much to pay to free up additional cash flow.

  9. Congratulations! I imagined that it was truly satisfying for you to finally be able to pay a lot of debts, as it means all that hard work and persistence paid off. One of the most important things to remember is to never give up on anything that you want to do in your life, and that truly shows in your post. Thanks for sharing this!

  10. Congrats. It's not an easy road but if you can be disciplined enough to do it others can too.

  11. Wow, that really is amazing! Congratulations! I became debt free in 2014 and have never looked back. It really is a life changing experience, knowing that you your life is no longer owned by creditors. Now, I have started saving for kid's tuition, so hopefully they will not be burdened by their own debt later on!

  12. It is great to hear when other people finally accomplish their goals. It makes me happy in a sense. I hope to pay off most of my debt this year. Good job for being able to pay off the majority of your debt this year. My husband had paid off his car also but similar to you guys ended up buying a new car soon after giving our son his old one.
